Teaching is a very demanding job but if managed properly can be extremly rewarding with real job satisfaction. The demands on a new teacher are beyond belief and so that is why it is essential to keep a proper work - life balance. There are only so many hours in a day and time for yourself is vital. It is not much use if you are so tired from doing all of the paper work that when faced with a class you are too exhausted and unable to teach them the way you would like. Having energy in the classroom is a must. It's the time management thing -talk it through with your professional tutor or an older, experienced member of staff.There's nothing that experienced teachers like more than to give advice.

Do not be put off by what you may hear in staffrooms and staff meetings about how virtuous some staff are about how they do everything (marking, preparation etc). Experience has shown that what is said and what happens are two different stories - it is impossible to do it all.
